Sunset Over West Wemyss

Sunset Over West Wemyss

Last Saturday evening I decided to take a wander down to the harbour at West Wemyss and send the drone up for a wee look.

It had been a busy week, the kind where your head is full of lists, ideas, and the never-ending things that come with running businesses and juggling life. Sometimes the best thing you can do in moments like that is step away for a little while and take some time to do the things you enjoy.

For me, that usually involves a camera.

As the drone lifted above the harbour, the sky began to shift into one of those beautiful Scottish sunsets. The colours slowly changing from warm orange into soft pink and blue as the sun dipped down beyond the horizon.

From above, West Wemyss looks even more peaceful than it does from the ground. The little harbour sits quietly along the coastline, with the stone pier stretching out into the sea and the village gathered gently behind it.

It’s one of those places that has a quiet charm about it. Nothing overly dramatic, just a simple, beautiful coastal village doing what it has done for generations.

Moments like this are important.

Taking a bit of time to step away from the noise of everyday life and do something that brings you a bit of peace can be incredibly powerful. For me, photography has always been a way to reset, clear my head, and reconnect with the things that matter.

Sometimes it only takes an hour by the sea, a camera in hand, and a sky full of colour to bring everything back into perspective.

And the best part is, moments like this are often right on our doorstep.

Scotland does a pretty good job of reminding us of that.
