Bio
I'm Colleen Goodsir — a Scottish business owner, Transport Manager CPC holder, and the person behind A1 Coaches, Scottish Goose, Moody Hoody Shop, and Tartan Ambition.
A1 Coaches is where it all started. What began as a small family transport operation has grown into a fleet running from 8 to 78 seats, covering local authority contracts, private hire, events, and specialist transport across Scotland. I hold a Transport Manager CPC and I'm hands-on in the compliance, operations, and financial side of the business — not just the name above the door.
Alongside A1 Coaches, I run several other businesses. My main focuses at present are:
- Scottish Travel Centre — Scottish tours and travel
- Minibus and Coach Sales — buying and selling minibuses and coaches
- Scottish Goose — workwear, garment decoration, vinyl graphics and printing
- Moody Hoody Shop — leisure garment decoration
- Tartan Ambition — business branding and marketing
I didn't come up through business school. I learned by doing — picking things up from my grandparents, making mistakes, fixing them, and building systems that actually work in the real world rather than on paper. That's the thread running through everything I write here: honest reflections on running a business in Scotland, what I've learned along the way, and the occasional detour into photography and the places that keep me sane outside of work.
If you're a journalist, event organiser, or fellow business owner looking to connect, get in touch — I'm always happy to talk transport, compliance, family business, or the reality of building something from scratch.
