I was doing a hire to Carnoustie Golf Club for a lovely group of Danish Golfers. I had really studied the route hard because I was aware there was a low bridge. I managed to get to the Golf Club - or at least I thought I had when one of the gentleman kindly pointed out ... No this is the hotel .. the Golf Club is not far away ... let me show you!!
I was in a 33 Seat Mercedes Midi Coach .. The gentleman said its just around this corner to your right.... The corner that was basically a right angled corner with cars parked on either side and there was no where to turn back from... So all I could do was try to get around it... Which I done.... To be faced with Cyclists, people leisurely walking with their dogs ... ON THE GOLF COURSE. All I could do was keep driving towards them.... Accross the teeny wee bridge that clearly had stated "Golf Caddy's Only"
The gentleman were adamant I was to drop them there, which I done! But unknown to them they had a 2 mile walk with their golfing equipment to get to their location for their game!! I wasn't looking forward to collecting them in the evening and I certainly wasn't looking forward to driving back over the Golf Caddy Bridge in my Coach!!
ITS NOT OK to drive along a pedestrian footpath in a midi coach NOR over a weak bridge that’s only suitable for Golf Caddy’s ….. twice!
